There are many treasures and trinkets to be found in the many shops within the city but we especially recommend paying a visit to the shops listed bellow for a selection of curated items ranging from clothes to home furnishing.

Mustapha Blaoui
A 10-minute walk from the riad, this iconic store is an Ali Baba’s cave of artisanal delights. Hidden behind an unassuming door you’ll find dazzling gold lanterns, cactus silks, colourful ceramics and authentic kilims. They can ship any items to your doorstep in Europe or the Americas.
Address: 144, Arset Aouzal – Bab Doukkala

Just next door is Valerie Barkowski’s dreamy store, offering chic, pared-back home textiles. Valerie has worked with local Marrakechi artisans for over 20 years, using traditional embroidery techniques such as colourful tasselling to embellish her luxury linens. You’ll also find a selection of locally made leather accessories.

L’Art du Bain
This bijou store of handmade plant-oil soaps smells like a garden, with gorgeous wafts of fresh scents of mint, orange flower, jasmine and rosemary. Great for souvenirs or buy the traditional savon-noir (black soap) to take to a local hammam.
Address: Souk el Badine Medina

Hip fashion boutique selling glamorous silk kaftans, kilim boots and boho-chic tunics and dresses, all handmade and embellished by local artisans. As seen in Selfridges.

Max & Jan
This concept store offers an international twist on traditional Moroccan styles, resulting in ethnic-chic fashion, accessories and homewares. We especially love their oversize necklaces and boho kaftans. They also run a brilliant ‘Soul Food’ restaurant on their rooftop terrace.
